Tax Credits and the 2009 IECC
The attached table provides a matrix of available energy efficiency tax credits and the corresponding 2009 IECC requirements. In some cases the 2009 IECC meets or exceeds tax credit specifications, meaning that if states adopt and enforce the latest building energy code citizens of those states will be able to apply for federal tax credits.
To use this table find the corresponding climate zone of your state or county and the product in which you will be purchasing or installing. From there you will see the specifications for federal tax credits along with specifications for the 2009 IECC. Further information in this matrix includes, the tax credit amount (most up to $1,500) and the tax credit beginning and ending dates (usually between January 1, 2009 and Dec 31, 2010).
